Blackbird Leys banners

Between October 2005 and January 2006, two banners were developed for a newly built health centre at Blackbird Leys in the city of Oxford.

These were digital works based on a 3 day visit to the estate and designed to hang in the atrium of the new building. The content became the young residents and the environment in which they lived, and I began by walking around with them and photographing elements or by getting them to photograph each other.

Additionally we added hand and footprints of the young residents and then scaled them up to fit the overall piece.

The banners are 9 feet in height.
